１　[1] 聖霊降臨の日がすっかり近づいたとき、彼らは皆、心を一つにして一つの所に集まっていました。。

５　さて、敬虔なユダヤ人たちが、天下のすべての国からエルサレムに来て住んでいましたが、

６　この物音に大ぜいの人が集まってきて、うろたえました。彼らの生れた国の言語で、彼らが話しているのを聞いからです。

７　そして、驚き怪しんで互いに言いました、「見よ、いま話しているこの人たちは、皆ガリラヤ人ではないか。

８　それだのに、どうしてわたしたちはそれぞれ、生れ故郷の国語を彼らから聞かされているのだ。

９　わたしたちの中には、パルテヤ人、メジヤ人、エラム人もおれば、メソポタミヤ、ユダヤ、カパドキヤ、ポントとアジヤ、

１０　フルギヤとパンフリヤ、エジプトとクレネに近いリビヤ地方などに住む者もいるし、またローマ人で旅にきている者、

１１　また、[3]ユダヤ人と、改宗者となって住んでいるローマ人もいるのだが、あの人々がわたしたちの国語で、神の大きな働きを述べるのを聞くとは、一体、どうなっているのだ」。

１２　みんなの者は驚き惑って、互に言い合いました、「これは、いったい、どういうことなのだろう」。

１３　しかし、ほかの人たちはあざ笑って、「あの人たちは新しい酒で酔っているのだ」と言いました。

１４　しかし、ペテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけました。「ユダヤの人たち、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべてのかたがた、どうか、この事を知ってください。わたしの言うことに耳を傾けてください。

１５　この人たちは、あなたがたが思っているように、酒に酔っているのではありません。今は朝の九時なのですから、

１６　そうではなく、これは預言者ヨエルが預言していたことなのです。すなわち、

１７　『終りの時には、こうなると、神が仰せになる。わたしのすべての人の上に、私の霊を注ごう。そして、あなたがたのむすこ娘は預言をし、あなたがたの若者たちは幻を目の当たりに見、老人たちは夢を見る。

１８　その時には、わたしの男女の僕たちにもわたしの霊を注ごう。そして彼らも預言をする。

１９　また、わたしは上なる天では奇跡を、下なる地ではしるしを与えよう。すなわち、血と火と立ちこめる煙とである。

２０　主の[4]大いなる恐ろしい日が来る前に、日はやみに月は血に変るであろう。

２１　そのとき、主の名を呼び求める者は、みな救われる。』。

２２　イスラエルの人たちよ、[5]このことを聞きなさい。あなたがたがよく知っているとおり、ナザレ人イエスは、神が彼をとおして、あなたがたの中で行われた数々の力あるわざと奇跡としるしとにより、神からつかわされた者であることを、あなたがたに示されたかた、

２３　神の定めた計画と予知とによるこのイエスを、あなたがたは不法の人々の手で十字架につけて殺しました。

２４　神はこのイエスを死の苦しみから解き放って、よみがえらせたのです。イエスが死に支配されていることなどは有り得ないことだからです。

２５　ダビデはイエスについてこう言っています、『わたしは常に目の前に主を見た。それは、わたしが動かされないため、彼はわたしの右にいて下さるからである。

２６　それゆえ、わたしの心は楽しみ、わたしの舌はよろこび歌った。わたしの肉体もまた、望みに生きる。

２７　あなたは、わたしの魂を黄泉に捨ておくことをせず、あなたの聖者が朽ち果てるのを、お許しにならないからだ。

２８　あなたは、いのちの道をわたしに知らしめ、み前にあって、わたしを喜びで満たして下さる。』。

２９　兄弟たちよ、祖先ダビデについては、わたしはあなたがたにむかって大胆に言うことができます。彼は死んで葬られ、その墓は今日に至るまで、わたしたちの間に残っている。

３０　彼は預言者であって、その子孫のひとりを王位につかせるために、キリストをよみがえらせることを、神が堅く彼に誓われたことを知り、

３１　キリストの復活をあらかじめ知って、『彼は黄泉に捨ておかれることがなく、またその肉体が朽ち果てることもない』と語ったのです。

３２　神はこの方、すなわちイエスをよみがえらせました。わたしたちは皆その証人なのです。

３３　そして、神の右に上げられ、御父から聖霊の約束を受けて、あなたがたが今見聞きしている私たちにこれを注がれたのです。

３４　ダビデが天に上ったのではありません。彼自身こう言っています、

３５『主はわが主に、あなたの敵をあなたの足台にするまでは、わたしの右に座していなさい、と仰せになった』、

３６　だから、イスラエルの全家は、あなたがたが十字架につけたこのイエスを、神が、主ともキリストとも成してお立てになった事を確かに知っておきなさい」。

３７　人々はこれを聞いて、強く心を刺され、ペテロやほかの使徒たちに、対して言いました、「兄弟たちよ、わたしたちは、どうしたらよいのでしょうか」。

３８　すると、ペテロが彼らに答えて言いました、「悔い改めなさい。そして、あなたがたひとりびとりが罪のゆるしを得るために、イエス・キリストの名によって、バプテスマを受けなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたは聖霊の賜物を受けます。

３９　なぜなら、この約束は、主である私たちの神の召しにあずかるすべての者、すなわちあなたがたと、あなたがたの子らと、遠くの者一同のためだからです」。

４０　ペテロは、ほかになお多くの言葉であかしをなし、また人々に勧めてこう言いました、「この曲った時代から救われなさい」

４１　そこで、彼の勧めの言葉を喜んで[6]受けいれ、バプテスマを受けましたが、その日、およそ三千人の魂が加えられました。

ACTS 2

2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 

² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 

³ Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Crowd’s Response

⁵ And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 

⁶ And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

 ⁷ Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?

 ⁸ And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

 ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 

¹⁰ Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 

¹¹ Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”

 ¹² So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”

¹³ Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

Peter’s Sermon

¹⁴ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 

¹⁵ For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 

¹⁶ But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

¹⁷ ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
¹⁸ And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
¹⁹ I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
²¹ And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.

²² “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

 ²³ Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 

²⁴ whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 

²⁵ For David says concerning Him:

‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
²⁶ Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
²⁷ For You will not leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
²⁸ You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.

²⁹ “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 

³⁰ Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

³¹ he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 

³² This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 

³³ Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

³⁴ “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:

‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
³⁵ Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”’^[f]

³⁶ “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

A Vital Church Grows

⁴⁰ And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”

 ⁴¹ Then those who gladlyreceived his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 

⁴² And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 

⁴³ Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

 ⁴⁴ Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 

⁴⁵ and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

⁴⁶ So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 

⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church　daily those who were being saved.

31 また、彼の友人であるアジアの役人の何人かも、劇場に足を踏み入れないようにと嘆願するよう彼のもとに送りました。

32 それで、ある者たちはあれこれ叫び、また他の人は別のことを叫びました。というのは、集会は混乱していて、ほとんどの人がなぜ集まったのかわからなかったからでです。

33 そこでユダヤ人たちは彼らの中からアレクサンダーを引き出して、彼を前に押し出しました。すると、アレクサンダーは手を振って人々に自分の弁護をしようとしました。

34しかし、彼がユダヤ人であると分かると、皆が声を揃えて、「エペソ人のディアナこそ偉大だ！」と二時間ほど叫び続けました。

35そして、市書記が群衆を静めてかいました。「エフェソの人々よ、エフェソの町が偉大な女神[h]ディアナと、[i]ゼウスから降った像の神殿の守護者であることを知らない者があろうか。

36ですから、これらのことを否定することはできませんから、あなたがたは静かにして、軽率なことをしないようにすべきです。

37あなたがたは、神殿を襲う者でも、女神を冒涜する者でもない者たちを、ここに連れて来たのです。

39しかし、もしあなたがたに他の問いただすべきことがあれば、それは合法的な集会で決定されなければならない。

40わたしたちは、今日の騒動について問題にされる恐れがある。」

41そして、これらのことを言うと、集会を解散させました。

使徒行伝8章（公認本文）

8:1 サウロは彼（ステパノ）死を賛成していました。その日、エルサレムの教会に大きな迫害があり、使徒たちを除いて、みなユダヤとサマリヤの地方に散らされました。

8:2 敬虔な人々はステファノを葬り、彼のために大いなる嘆きました。

8:3 ところが、サウロは教会を荒らし回り、すべての家に入り込み、そして、男も女も引きずって、獄に引き渡しました。

8:4 さて、散らされた者たちが、福音、すなわち、みことばを宣べ伝えながら通り過ぎて行きました。

Act 17:3  opening and setting forth that Christ must have suffered, and to have risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus whom I preach to you is Christ.

Act 17:5  But the disobeying Jews becoming jealous, and having taken aside some wicked men of the market-loafers, and gathering a crowd, they set all the city in an uproar. And coming on the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the mob. 

Act 17:6  And not finding them, they drew Jason and certain brothers before the city judges, crying, These who have turned the world upside down have come here too,

７　すると、彼らに言われました、「時期や場合は、おまえたちの知る限りではない。それは父がご自分の権威によって定めておられるのである。

８　しかし、聖霊がおまえたちの所に[3]来られる時、おまえたちは力を受けて、エルサレム、ユダヤ全土、そして、サマリヤ、さらに地のはてまで、わたしの証人となる」。

９　こう仰せになると、彼は、彼らの見ている前で天に上げられ、雲に迎えられて、その姿が見えなくなりました。

１０　イエスの上って行かれるとき、彼らが天を見つめていると、見よ、白い衣を着たふたりの人が、彼らのそばに立っていました。

１１　彼らはこう言いました、「ガリラヤの人たちよ、なぜ天を仰いで立っているのですか。あなたがたを離れて天に上げられたこのイエスは、天に上って行かれるのをあなたがたが見たのと同じ有様で、またおいでになります」。

１２　それから彼らは、オリブという山からエルサレムに帰りました。この山はエルサレムに近く、安息日に許されている距離のところにあります。

１３　それから、彼らは入ってきて、その泊まっていた屋上の間にあがりました。その人たちは、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネ、アンデレ、ピリポとトマス、バルトロマイとマタイ、アルパヨの子ヤコブと熱心等のシモン、そして、ヤコブの兄弟ユダ（ペテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブ、アンデレ、ピリポとトマス、バルトロマイとマタイ、アルパヨの子ヤコブと熱心党のシモンとヤコブの子ユダと）でした。

１４　これらの人々はみな、心を一つにし、婦人たち、特にイエスの母マリヤ、およびイエスの兄弟たちと共に、ひたすら祈と嘆願をしていました。

１５　そのころ、弟子たちが一団となって集まっていた、その百二十名ばかりの真ん中に立って、ペテロは言いました、

１６　「兄弟たちよ、イエスを捕えた者たちの手びきになったユダについては、聖霊がダビデの口をとおしてあらかじめ語られたその言葉は、成就しなければなりませんでした。

１７　彼はわたしたちと共に数えられ、この務を授かっていた者でした。（

１８　彼は不義の報酬である地所を手に入れたが、そこへまっさかさまに落ちて、まん中から裂け、はらわたがみな流れ出てしまいました。

１９　そこで、この地所が彼らの国語でアケルダマと呼ばれるようになり、この事はエルサレムの全住民に知れわたりました。（すなわち「血の地所」との意です。）

２０　このことは、詩篇に、『その屋敷は荒れ果てさせよ、そこにはだれも住む者がいなくなれ』と書いてあり、また『その奉仕の職は、ほかの者に取らせよ』とあるとおりです。

２１　そういうわけで、主イエスがわたしたちの間においでになり、また、出てゆかれるまでのすべての期間中、

２２　ヨハネのバプテスマの時から始まって、わたしたちを離れて天に上げられた日に至るまで、わたしたちと行動を共にした人たちのうち、だれかひとりが、わたしたちと共に主の復活の証人にならねばなりません」。

２３　そこで彼らは、(バルサバと呼ばれ、またの名をユストという）ヨセフと、マッテヤとのふたりを立て、

２４　そして祈って言いました、「主よ、すべての人の心をご存じである方よ。この奉仕と使徒の職とを受け継ぐために、このふたりのうちのどちらを選ばれるのかをお示しください。

２５　ユダはこの使徒の職務から落ちて、自分の行くべきところへ行きました」。

２６　それから、ふたりのためにくじを引いたところ、マッテヤに当ったので、この人が十一人の使徒たちに加えられました。

Acts 1

Act 1:1  Truly, O Theophilus, I made the first report as to all things that Jesus began both to do and teach

Act 1:2  until the day He was taken up, having given directions to the apostles whom He chose, through the Holy Spirit;

Act 1:3  to whom He also presented Himself living after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

Act 1:4  And having met with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father which you heard from Me.

Act 1:5  For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

Act 1:6  Then, indeed, these coming together, they asked Him, saying, Lord, do You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

Act 1:7  And He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority.

Act 1:8  But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Act 1:9  And saying these things, as they watched, He was taken up. And a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Act 1:10  And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them,

Act 1:11  who also said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven.

Act 1:12  Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount Of Olive Grove, which is a sabbath day's journey from Jerusalem.

Act 1:13  And when they had come in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter and James, and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James;

Act 1:14  these all were continuing with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Act 1:15  And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples and said, (the number of names together was about a hundred and twenty,)

Act 1:16  Men, brothers, this Scripture must have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who became guide to those who seized Jesus.

Act 1:17  For he was numbered with us and had obtained part of this ministry.

Act 1:18  Indeed, then, this one purchased a field with the reward of unrighteousness. And falling headlong, he burst apart in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out.

Act 1:19  And it was known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem, so much so that that field is called in their own dialect, Akeldama, that is to say, Field of Blood.

Act 1:20  For it is written in the Book of Psalms, "Let his estate become forsaken, and he not be living in it." And, "Let another take his overseership."

Act 1:21  Therefore, it is right that one of these men who have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,

Act 1:22  beginning from the baptism of John to that same day that He was taken up from us, to become a witness with us of His resurrection.

Act 1:23  And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

Act 1:24  And they prayed and said, You, Lord, knower of all hearts, show which one You chose from these two,

Act 1:25  to take the share of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell, to go to his own place.

Act 1:26  And they gave forth their lots. And the lot fell upon Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
